  Had a great day out with Ryan on a private lesson a few months ago. I had been a struggling beginner/intermediate weekend only surfer for almost 2 years now, so I wanted to get some more confidence and learn more about timing and positioning to be able to ride along the face of the wave instead of always heading straight to shore into the breaking water. Ryan found us the only breaking spot on the beach that day and I got my first "real" wave on the first try. It was the best feeling ever and I got a few more that day too. The next day I went out by myself and caught an awesome green wave on my own, which I owe to learning the feeling and having the confidence to go for it due to the prior day's lesson. Actually, saying all that, I think it's about time I book in another lesson.

  What a great experience with Manly Surf Guide! Ryan is an absolute legend who understands the importance of giving excellent guidance and then letting the students apply the learned theories. His trained eyes are on everyone: Wrong paddling technique or posture? He'll let you know and make sure you do it right. Could not have been more satisfied with the surfing and SUP classes. Tip: Ask for the SUP classes at Shelly Beach. Great location and excellent conditions for beginners! Thanks Ryan, keep up the good work
