- Gerrie Barnard Added November 29, 2017★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Steyne has more staff with earpieces monitoring your every move than patrons. Seriously though, we wanted to celebrate with friends who had become Australian. Our group of 6 (3couples) had 3 drinks each from dead sober over 2 hours and were told we could not be served any more because we "seemed intoxicated". We argued that we only had the drinks which they had served us. The staff pointed to the security cameras and said they had decided. That's when we realized the fun police were spying on us the whole time. There are many other pubs in Manly, and we went to them instead and still had a great night. We won't be going back to the Steyne, because their obsessive monitoring policy seems to guarantee disappointment. If anything, Steyne seems unAustralian.
